The Exhibition That Reframes History
Twelve African queens. Twelve civilisations. Twelve stories that rewrote the terms of power. 12 African Queens: Reclaiming the Crown is a landmark touring exhibition bringing the lives, legacies, and sovereign authority of Africa’s greatest queens to international audiences for the first time at this scale.
From Queen Makeda of Sheba and Cleopatra VII of Egypt, to Yaa Asantewaa of the Ashanti, Nzinga of Angola, and Queen Amina of Zazzau — each figure receives a dedicated installation space combining biographical narrative, artefact, commissioned portraiture, and multimedia storytelling. The result is an exhibition that is simultaneously a history lesson, an art experience, and an act of cultural restoration.
